IMDB rating: 5.60 Plot: Six people in New York are adrift. Zeke and Luke work in a sex shop: Zeke takes gay liberation seriously, Luke likes to sparkle and takes nothing seriously. He’s offended when Stephen calls him a gay cliche, then, surprisingly, they find each other attractive and interesting. Stephen, it turns out, has a great apartment, trust fund, and artwork he’s painted on his walls. Meanwhile, Peter, a neat-freak, and Derek, nice to everyone, move in together. Peter’s compulsiveness threatens the relationship. Last, newly-engaged Marilyn, a recovering alcoholic stuck at step 2, can’t stop obsessing about wedding details. Can these folks sort out civilization and its discontents? |

i’m watching you, watching me;
seeing you, seeing me.
what’s this i feel?
is it mutual, almost palpable?
you try and get closer,
can’t help but push you away.
those other girls crave,
want the bright lights.
i hate to have to say this,
it almost hurts like a steak knife to the heart.
it’s tough to admit it,
you can’t tell a soul.
is this thought impure,
what would God think?
you whisper back,
are you just be saying this for my sake?
what’s this i feel?
is it mutual, almost palpable?
i think i’ve found an answer,
a simple four letter word.
no, not what you think,
must i say it, can’t you feel it?
simply, possibly, could
this be what i feel?
yes, let me spell it out,
L-U-S-T.
thoughts, comments, all accepted.
and a possible title?
ii thiink thiis iis really good..

Get rid of the steak, in "it almost hurts like a steak knife to the heart."
just make it "it almost hurts like a knife to the heart."
that looks and sounds better to me.
but i really like it!
i think you should name it palpable.

"i think i’ve found an answer,
a simple four letter word.
no, not what you think,

I like this a lot! It makes me feel… wow~
though… lust may not seem like the correct word. Can someone feel lust?
A possible title… I would like "The Four Letter-ed Word" It would lead people to read it, and think the word is love, but its not!
Another could be… "The L Word" meaning about the same…
"Palpable" could work too.

IMDB rating: 6.60 Plot: Camden College. Sean Bateman (James Van Der Beek) is the younger brother of depraved Wall Street broker Patrick Bateman. He’s also a drug dealer who owes a lot of money to “fellow” dealer Rupert Guest (Clifton Collins, Jr.), as well as a well-known womanizer, for he sleeps with nearly half of the female population on campus. Lauren Hynde (Shannyn Sossamon) is, technically, a virgin. She’s saving herself for her shallow boyfriend, Victor Johnson (Kip Pardue), who’s left the States to backpack across Europe. Her slutty roommate, Lara (Jessica Biel), has the hots for Victor as well. Paul Denton (Ian Somerhalder), who used to date Lauren, is openly bisexual and attracted to Mitchell Allen (Thomas Ian Nicholas), who’s dating Candice (Clare Kramer) to prove to Paul that he’s not gay. Sean loves Lauren. Paul loves Sean. And Lauren may love Sean. |

Why is finding good people to date in this new place so difficult?
After returning from a party, I am very frustrated, so please, use Yahoo to vent and tell me why I’m wrong or right. Are these qualities too much to ask for?
1. Physical Fitness / Attraction - so beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but YOU should at least be physically fit. e.g. running a mile in ~10 min, play some sports, not be overweight.
2. Smart - just some real stupid ppl out there. so here’s how i rule them out. if you went to a good univeristy and are onto a respected profession (doctor, engineer, lawyer), then yes, you are smart. if you are an artist, hair stylist, musician, secretary…nooooooo i’m not going to be your sugar mommy/daddy. OK?
3. open minded / charismatic - it’s OK if you’re a bit of a country bumpkin, or from the city, or whatever! just be a *bit* well-travelled, and not just "ugh…brain is not here" for quick conversations!!
OK, so at minimum….(a) physically fit (b) intelligent (c) charismatic.
are those 3 things so DIFFICULT to achieve?? GAWD.
yeah, ok by 2. smart is the following:
<subject is Hong Kong>
girl/guy says, "oh yeah, those people in Japan"
OMG - how stupid are you!? that’s like saying people from South America are from Mexico. gawd!
i really don’t mean any offense by this, but you sound like kind of a snob, just because someone didn’t go to an ivy league school and actually has to work for a living, it doesn’t mean that they aren’t smart or that you’re going to have to support them. but as for your three qualities no they are not that hard to find. it just seems like maybe your standards are a little TOO high. and i’m not saying that you should just give up on your standards, just that maybe you shouldn’t be so quick to judge someone before you get to know more about them. otherwise you could overlook someone with really great relationship potential.
EDIT: OK yeah that person would be retarded lol. just out of curiosity what would your opinion on Hong Kong be? do you believe that they should be independent from China?

Rearrangement of formulae q?
ok so the question was:
Fd = 1/2mv^2 - 1/2mu^2 (find v)
I got:
v = square root of : 2Fd+1/2mu^2 / m
my answer was basically correct except in the book the answer doesnt have 1/2
i got rid of the first one by timesing both sides of the equation by 2 but if i do it again to get rid of the second 1/2, it will make it 4Fd which is incorrect?
so how do i do it? please help
Fd + (1/2)*mu^2 = (1/2)*m*v^2
2*Fd + mu^2 = m*v^2
(2*Fd)/m + u^2 = v^2
v = sqrt((2*Fd)/m + u^2)

Christians/anyone: do you ever ask yourself how on earth people get by without Jesus?
has the holy Spirit ever shaken your heart with a revelation that makes you feel like God Himself just walked into the room and tossed a wisdom grenade into your soul? i just worked a very long day and week, and all of the circumstantial garbage just melted away when i realized how my Lord stepped out of the beauty of heaven and into the filth of a stall, yea also from the Father’s heart to my filthy one. then i asked and i ask you, how on earth do these people continue on without knowing Jesus? i can’t go an hour without crying out to Him… im trying to cut it down to minutes.
friends, don’t judge me, you know me not. you take the few words that i’ve given you and fashion them as a sword on your tongue to strike back. instead why don’t you think about it and love thy neighbor?
black jack: from the overflow of the heart, the mouth speaks. my heart cries out all the time… its the only way i receive the peace to endure.
TBT - my sins are washed away, my chains have been removed. my judgement was passed on to Jesus, He took the rejection i deserve, and you couldn’t be more wrong, i’ve never felt more free in all of my life, Jesus is Lord.
Bar B - forgive me, i did not mean to out or offend. my heart was merely breaking for them. my heart aches when i have a bad day, yet i have peace in my Lord, where do they get theres? would it help if i dressed in sackloth and threw dirt in my hair? sorry, i can’t take my eyes off of Jesus. no one else is worthy.
It is so refreshing and encouraging to hear about people like you who seek the truth and love of Jesus like you do. Sometimes I get so frustrated when people can’t grasp how amazing God’s love gift of free salvation is. I think how terrible it must be for them not to have the hope that lies in a biblical worldview and have absolute certainty that we will one day dwell in heaven with our maker forever. I appreciate that you "speak the truth in love" (1 Cor. 13) instead of condeming people for the way they view the world. Keep up the good work!

I do wonder sometimes how a person lives life without God.
Sometimes like if they have a family in surgery, or are in a desperate situation, I wonder what they do. Saying prayers is comforting and lets you know that you are loved and being protected, and it’s strange to think that someone can live without that.
Edward Cullen<3 | Jun 13, 2008
The rest of us live like that too. But instead of giving gratitude to some deity, we realize that we are our own destiny makers. and so instead of blaming god for the good (and the bad), we take it and make the best of it.
We are in control of our own lives while you live off of the droppings of an invisible being whose power you only feel.

Yes at times i have wondered how they do it…I also at times feel sorry for some people who have never known what it is to have that peace you are talking about it’s a shame they have no idea what they are missing out on …i think the reason some don’t understand and want proof there is a God is because until they feel this for themselves there is no way for them to know the proof is in knowing him and having him in your life…as for trying to cut back on the time you cry out to him why would you want to do that? I hope i can add to the time i cry out to him but also to the time i praise him and give him thanks because i do know i can’t make it without him in my life. God Bless You and keep crying out we all need as much as possible.

I obviously have an utterly different mind-set to you.
You think of everything in terms of Jesus or God. I can imagine every aspect of your life, and every decision you make to be in terms of your religion.
I see you as being imprisoned by your strange beliefs.

I ponder that question every day. Answer: Their focus is on self with sins of pride and self seeking pleasures as their blinders blocking from their vision to see their need for Christ.
P.C. | Jun 13, 2008
I continually wonder that. Where do they find their hope to live each day? If I didn’t have Him, I don’t know where I’d be, or if I’d even be alive!
Kirsten Erin | Jun 13, 2008
There’s such a thing as too much and that happened to you ten fold back.
I’m amzazed in the other direction - that people can call themselves Christian, go to Church every week and then forget about it for 6 days and 22 hours until the next time for self torture. They seem fine forgetting about him.
davster | Jun 13, 2008
People get along fine by denying Jesus, which is in effect kicking God out of His throne, taking His place with SELF and making themselves Lord of their own lives…
Then it becomes easy, because they remain in the natural, conformed to a world of evil and ungodliness instead of being transformed into godliness and righteousness through obedience to God.
Servant Leader | Jun 13, 2008
Yes. God is good. I don’t know how I got along without the Lord, but it was a very confusing time for me.

Bar B | Jun 13, 2008
The unsaved DON’T know anything else but to commit sins. It’s what they do by NATURE.
How terrible to stumble through "life" deceived, brainwashed, mixed up, and TOTALLY blinded by Satan. Even worse still, is that this death filled, wicked, world of lies and deceit is all the unsaved have to look forward to, and then they’ll die and go to a Hell that will make this world look like a paradise.
It’s tragic.
Thank you Lord Jesus for saving me!!
Donald T | Jun 13, 2008
Actually no, I don’t. I can’t know how anyone else experiences the world. I assume that if they need a deity at all that eventually they will find God. Whatever vision of God they happen to resonate with.
But what I do wonder about is the idea of putting things into perspective. Times when you need to evaluate your life and its direction. Not that a particular religion or Deity is needed for that, but I tend to think that trying to get at your own "heart" or unconscious mind is pretty important in going through something like that.
My question would be that if you are a person who has no belief in the unconscious mind, (I’m thinking that maybe a skeptic wouldn’t) or the "power" of the unconscious mind to sort steer your life into directions that your waking mind does not want, how do you make those life altering kinds of assessments?
As a person of faith, yes I can pray, but I also try to make use of different types of meditation. I can imagine myself as both a waking and subconscious being. Do Atheists do this at all?
Does the title "Atheist" automatically translate as "skeptic"?
jennette h | Jun 13, 2008
I do ask myself how people get by with out a God (although as a Pagan, not Jesus specifically).
As someone who’s life has been touched by several God’s, I can’t imagine being without them.
I hear people comment that believing in God’s is deluded, and I have a hard time understanding how they could find joy in a life so bereft of magic.
Nighttree | Jun 14, 2008
I do. Life is hard, and even with Jesus those hard times can really suck the air out of our lungs. I always wonder how anyone survives on their own without Him.

Superman II: Director’s cut
February 21, 2010
|
IMDB rating: 6.60 Plot: This time, the Man of Steel has his hands full with a trio of super-powered villains who escape from their Phantom Zone prison (remember the weird flying diamond-shaped mirror that scooped them up from the planet Krypton?) and land on Earth, where all three have powers to rival Superman’s own. How does it all come out? With a fabulous duel above the streets of Metropolis, and a startling plot twist that neatly ties in Superman’s explosive past. Arch-criminal Lex Luthor plays both ends gleefully against the middle in hopes of a modest reward: Australia. |
Actors: Hackman Gene,Reeve Christopher,Beatty Ned,Cooper Jackie,O’Halloran Jack,James Clifton,Marshall E.G.,McClure Marc,Stamp Terence,Action,Adventure,Fantasy,Romance,Sci-Fi,
Has anyone seen Superman II: The Richard Donner's Cut(2006), not Superman II: The Theatrical Version(1980)?
Christopher Reeve-Superman
Terance Stamp-General Zod
Richard Lester- Director
Richard Donner- Alternative Director
Own it seen Love it.
As has been stated Superman 1 and 2 were filmed back to back/simultaniously much like Lord of the Rings, and the 2nd and 3rd films of the Pirates of teh Caribbean and matrix franchises.
the first film was pretty much done, and 75-80% of the second was completed as the Pre-announced Release date neared. the Salkinds (Producers of 1-3, and the Superboy TV show) got nervous and fired Donner, replaced him with Lester, and used the planned ending of 2 as the ending for 1 (I think one was supposed to end with a last minute save, and 2 was too have the faulty rotate the planet backwards thing)
Lester then reshot what amounted to over half of the 2nd film, leaving alot of Donners work in editting, I heard somewhere that Hackman refused to work with Lester in protest of the switch, so that all Lex scenes in the Theatrical version of 2 were shot by Donner.
Thats why in the Donner Cut, Lex is a bit more prominent, than the Lester version. and they reused the reverse earth ending. along with Screen test footage in some scenes because the film was either lost, or never got shot due to the firing.
Still a great film.
janssen411 | Dec 21, 2007
…yes, I have seen it!!!
…the film plays more like a much more logical and direct continuation of the first film, rather than a sequel; if you check out the special features and the audio commentary, it will be explained that "Superman: The Movie" and "Superman II" were scheduled to be filmed back to back. Richard Donner was slated to film both of them, and had, in fact, finished about 80% of "Superman II", when the film’s producers began to worry about running out of money; hastily, they fired Donner before he could finish the second film, released the first film, and hired Richard Lester to construct a new film. Using the basic storyline for the second movie as a springboard, Lester filmed a somewhat different film, with the mood leaning much more toward the humorous style he was known for, in films like "The Three Musketeers", and it’s subsequent sequel…
…I’m still more or less up in arms, as to which version I like the most; they both definitely have their own individual charm and appeal…

I’ve Seen it, I own the DVD to it…and It is great.

I want to save my relationship, please give me some tips on how to stop with my attitude.?
He is a white man from a totally different background, and i am biracial from a background where i had to put up walls and always be on guard. i have been this way my whole life. This man is not used to dating women like this, but he loves me and wants to be with me but does not want my attitude around anymore. i do love him, and yes my attitude is a problem and no i dont mind getting rid of it. but how, i dont need your jokes, or bad comments. i love him and our relationship is on the rocks because of this. we once had plans, now those are gone. he would rather me stay in my city then to move 52 miles to be closer to him. thats not good, but if i dont change it, its only gonna get worse. please help, i need some good advice on how i can stop being on guard all the time and change my bad attitude. positive responses only please, i am serious and want good solid sound advice.
change is hard and a slow process.. here what you do slowly what you need to do is take a situation and if you would get upset and negative just change you mindset no i will not get upset about this i am going to stay positive it is just a bump in the road, i am in control of my density and my attitude and i will not let this ruin my day
smiley | Feb 06, 2010
No jokes, no stupid advice. If it sounds stupid it don’t mean it to be. But it seems you might need couples counseling, something were there are a lot of people to help you and feel the way you do. Why do you think you have this great big barrier around you holding him away? You have to find that reason and overcome it. Bad ex-boyfriend? Dad never there? People picked on you? You have to go back to the people that drew this barrier and talk to them, forgive them, apologize. Just do what ever you have to do to be happy with the one you love.

I’d choose the 3rd one. Most of them remind of animals and the 2nd one doesn’t flow together. The 1st reminds my of Ghost Rider (which would also be a cool choice).
